Meet the Highland Dams

Charlotte
Charlotte is our oldest Highland cow-and without a doubt, the craziest of the bunch.
She keeps us on our toes daily and has a personality that would normally earn a one-way ticket down the road. But then you watch her as a momma, and everything changes.
Charlotte is fiercely protective, deeply attentive, and devoted to her calves in a way that's impossible not to respect. She raises strong, healthy babies and takes her job seriously, even if she delivers it with a whole lot of attitude. Beneath the chaos is a seasoned cow that knows exactly what she's doing.
She may test our patience, but Charlotte has earned her place here. Some cows stay because they're easy-Charlotte stays because she's exceptional where it matters the most.

Clover
Clover holds a special place at Phelps
Cattle Co. as the cow who gave us our very first Highland calf, sweet Georgie.
From day one, she proved herself to be an outstanding momma-calm, attentive, and deeply devoted to her baby.
Beyond her mothering skills, Clover is famous for her hair. Hands down, she has the best hair of the bunch-thick, fluffy, and always camera-ready. She knows it too. Add in her love for treats, you'll usually find her front and center the moment she spots her purple feed bucket, coming at a full run without a second thought.
Clover is the perfect mix of beauty, personality, and heart-a foundational cow in our fold and a reminder of why we fell in love with Highland cattle in the first place

Willow
Willow joined our fold with her baby, Chief, already at her side-and it didn't take long to see what an exceptional mother she is.
One look at Chief, big and thriving, told the whole story. Willow does her job quietly and confidently, raising strong calves with ease.
She's just as impressive in looks as she is in temperament. Willow has stunning dun-colored hair accented with soft blonde highlights that catch the light beautifully.
Paired with her gentle nature and sweet disposition, she's a joy to have in the pasture and a calming presence among the herd.
Willow is the kind of cow that embodies everything we love about Highland cattle
-beauty, kindness, and steady, dependable motherhood.

Stella
Stella is our second youngest Highland cow, and she's the perfect mix of sweet and sassy. While she has a gentle side, she can also give Charlotte a run for her money when it comes to pushing the other cows around-proof that size and age don't always determine who's in charge.
This year, Stella gave us our first heifer calf, Ruthie, and she's stepped into motherhood beautifully. As a first-time mom, she's been attentive, protective, and confident, doing an outstanding job from the start.
Stella has already proven she's a valuable part of our fold, and with her strong personality, great mothering instincts, and promising genetics, we're excited to see all the great things she'll contribute in the years to come.

Clara
Clara is our youngest Highland that came with the original fold, and she has the softest soul in the entire bunch. Her calm, gentle nature is almost too peaceful at times, which unfortunately makes her the one the others like to push around. Because of that, we often find ourselves stepping in and giving her a little extra attention - and honestly, she deserves every bit of it.
Clara is incredibly sweet, quietly affectionate, and always content just being near. There's something about her gentle presence that pulls at your heart, making it impossible not to protect her and cheer her on.
She may be the youngest, and she may not be the boss, but she's definitely our favorite... just don't tell the others.

Ruthie
Ruthie is our newest Highland calf heifer, and she's already made herself right at home in the fold. She's Stella's girl, sticking close to her mom while still finding plenty of time for mischief and fun. Most days you'll find Ruthie racing around the pasture with her best bud, Fergus, breaking into full-on zoomies that make it impossible not to smile.
She's curious, playful, and full of personality
-everything you hope to see in a young Highland heifer. Since Ruthie is here to stay, we're especially excited about the traits she'll bring to the fold as she grows: strong genetics, a great temperament, and that spark that makes Highlands so special.
Ruthie represents the future of our herd, and we can't wait to watch her grow into the cow she's meant to be.
